NO KINGS! WHERE’S THE OUTRAGE?

President Trump is preparing for a major state visit with King Charles, complete with royal ceremony, diplomatic fanfare, and all the polished symbolism that comes with it. What makes it interesting is the sudden silence from the same people who spent years screaming “democracy dies in darkness” and warning that Trump was some kind of authoritarian monarch in waiting. Apparently actual kings are fine—depending on the guest list.

American politics has become less about principle and more about selective outrage. If Trump sneezes wrong, it’s a constitutional crisis. But a literal king gets the red carpet and nobody blinks. Either monarchy is offensive to democratic values or it isn’t. Turns out most outrage has less to do with the crown and more to do with who’s standing next to it.

STONED MONKS

Sri Lankan police made headlines after discovering Buddhist monks attempting to bring cannabis through an airport. Authorities seized the marijuana and detained the monks, creating one of the stranger law enforcement stories of the week. For a group associated with discipline, meditation, and detachment from worldly temptation, airport weed trafficking was not on anyone’s 2026 bingo card.

Every profession has that one guy who ruins the staff meeting. This time it was apparently monks. The bigger lesson is simple: robes don’t grant immunity from bad decisions. Enlightenment may be a journey, but apparently somebody tried to take the express flight with carry-on kush.

PEECYCLING

Scientists and environmental advocates are pushing the idea of “peecycling”—using human urine as fertilizer for crops instead of flushing it away. Urine contains nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, the same nutrients farmers buy commercially for fertilizer. Researchers argue that collecting and reusing it could reduce waste, cut costs, and improve sustainability in agriculture.

Humanity has officially reached the point where saving the planet might require us to rethink the toilet. Somewhere, a farmer is looking at your morning coffee differently. It sounds ridiculous until you realize modern fertilizer is expensive and resources are finite. Suddenly “don’t pee that away” starts sounding like solid economic policy.
