Campbell’s is moving forward with another workforce reduction as the food giant continues restructuring its operations and cutting costs. The Camden-based company says the changes are part of a broader effort to simplify the business, improve efficiency and adjust staffing as consumers remain cautious about spending and food companies face continued pressure on costs.

EGYPTIAN DEATH KNOT (BBC)
Egyptian television presenter Sarah Khalifa, 39, and 11 others have been sentenced to death by hanging after being convicted on drug charges. Prosecutors said the group imported ingredients used to manufacture narcotics and possessed illegal firearms and ammunition. Khalifa, known for the crime-themed TV program Mission Impossible, denies the charges and plans to appeal.

DID I DO THAT? (KTVU FOX 2)
Authorities say a suspect somehow carried a concealed gun into the Pittsburg Police Department and then into a jail cell before allegedly shooting an officer. The weapon apparently went undetected during the booking process, raising serious questions about how the gun made it through police security and into the detention area.
