Consumer Inflation vs. Monetary Inflation

1. Two Different Inflations

Consumer Inflation: What people feel — groceries, gas, rent, utilities, daily essentials.

Monetary Inflation: What the Federal Reserve creates — money printing, stimulus, low interest rates, expanding the money supply.

2. Cause vs. Effect

Monetary inflation happens first (money supply expansion).

Consumer inflation happens later (prices rise because money is worth less).

Media focuses on prices, not the policy decisions causing them.
