Gallagher favors treatment, food assistance and housing support over arrests and jail; critics argue excusing theft shifts costs to paying customers and can drive retailers out of communities.

A family-owned Bellflower, California store was ransacked by dozens during a street takeover, leaving nearly $30,000 in damage and stolen merchandise, according to the New York Post. The mob attack turned an illegal driving spectacle into a direct hit on a small business and renewed concerns over street takeovers spilling into looting and property crime.

TRUMP AND THE KOREA'S (GROUND NEWS)
President Trump ordered the Pentagon to substantially reduce long-planned U.S.-South Korea military exercises. He cited their cost, his relationship with Kim Jong Un and the hostile signal the drills send North Korea. Trump also linked the move to Seoul declining a U.S. request connected to denuclearizing Iran; South Korea says it is monitoring the shift.
